I am out in Sacramento to watch Jenn run the marathon tomorrow. This year CIM had a 5k the day before so I figured I might as well run it. Very slow and slippery course but I won, so that's a good way to end my season.

Seriously, who designed this monstrosity of a course? 23 turns. The guy in the lead about a half mile in wipes out on the first turn which involved wet leaves and mud. Of course then I had to slow down at each turns so I wouldn’t wipe out. Fun but terrible course

Watched CIM and was support crew for Jenn. I felt bad for her since she had some issues and didn't reach her goal. However, she PRed and made it through. She's tough. I was pumped with the good results from runners from the DC area and it has made me look forward to the marathon in Berlin next year.

PM: 3 miles home from metro + light core

My legs felt fine but my stomach did not. Also, my core is weak AF after neglecting any core work for over a week. Forcing myself to keep my runs short at least for a week.

Stomach doesn't feel good on the run due to my diet. My belt at work is getting snug. Almost ready to ramp the running back up but forcing myself to make sure the body gets a break.

cold, 27 with wind chill of 23. Not really that bas though. Totally a comfortable run with the right clothes. I wonder how cruddy it will be in single digits with 20-30 mph winds. Hopefully it doesn't get that cold this winter.

Cold again at 24 this morning but still good running weather because there was no wind. I've got to start getting into my core routine more consistent y. Also need to eat less sweets as I've become readdicted to them after my break.

Door to door run commute. I’ve always wanted to try it but a random long run mid week never fits in while doing workouts. I figured with the nice weather I might as well do it before workouts start again

My Zealot shoes really suck in the rain and aren't much better when it's dry. Not sure why I'm still running in them. Probably going to toss them.

My old track buddy from Ohio and his wife were in town so I ran with them. Rained the whole time but it was great to swap old high school track stories from the glory days.

The hills are slightly different now that the downhill strides are closer to 30 seconds rather than 20 like they used to be. very warm so went shirtless. Getting back into it. Time to get strong

Considering shutting down this blog and simply going all in on Strava to record everything starting Jan 1. It seems almost redundant to keep this one up and copy and paste run descriptions back and forth from Strava.

I love this site and the simple way it's set up but it's a lot of time keeping two logs going.
